I have received nine years of formal training as a psychologist. I officially qualified as a psychologist in 2016 and subsequently was awarded the title Doctor of Psychology in 2020. I hold a BSc in Psychology from Queen’s University Belfast (2014), a prestigious university in Northern Ireland belonging to the esteemed Russell Group of top-ranked UK universities. The rigorous curriculum gave me a broad knowledge of psychology and prepared me for advanced studies in the field. During this time I was also awarded a fully-funded Erasmus Mundus scholarship to study at the University of Masaryk in the Czech Republic for six months.
I continued my academic journey by pursuing an MSc in Health Psychology at King’s College London (2016), one of the leading universities in the world. The comprehensive programme offered an interdisciplinary approach to the field, providing me with a solid foundation in health psychology, behavioural medicine, and public health. With the completion of my Master’s degree, I successfully qualified to practice as a psychologist in Switzerland in 2016.
From 2017–2020 I undertook a PhD in Psychology at the University of Basel, where I graduated with ‘Insigni Cum Laude’ (with remarkable praise). My doctorate was fully funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) and focused on improving the quality of care services for palliative care patients and their families in Switzerland. Through this training, I gained invaluable insight into the challenges faced by patients and healthcare professionals, and developed innovative strategies to improve the quality of care.
Besides my extensive psychological training, I have written research articles published in scientific journals that have sought to inform health policy in Switzerland, and have spoken at numerous public health conferences at national and international level. In my practice, I apply all my training and utilise evidence-based treatment approaches — including cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and breath-work and meditation techniques — to help my clients achieve optimal mental health.
