Growing in confidence

Self-love and confidence are often so hard to achieve because of the pressures and expectations that we have of ourselves, or that we feel others have of us.

Many times we can feel that we are just not good enough.

The truth is that none of us are perfect — but you can be better today than you were yesterday!

You cannot change your past self but you can change your future self for the better. Start today — book your free session with me.

Does this sound familiar?

Signs your confidence needs some care

You speak to yourself more harshly than you would ever speak to a friend.

You compare yourself with others and always come up short.

You find it hard to say no, even when you are exhausted.

Praise feels uncomfortable, while criticism stays with you for days.

You hold back from opportunities because you might fail.

You feel like an impostor waiting to be found out.

Confidence is not something you either have or lack. It is something you can build, at any age and from any starting point.

How I can help

Learning to be on your own side

We begin by getting to know your inner critic. Where does that voice come from, and whose standards is it really applying? Simply seeing it clearly takes away much of its power.

With cognitive behavioural therapy you learn to question the old stories you tell about yourself and to replace them with a fairer, kinder view. We also practise setting boundaries and speaking up in the situations that matter to you.

Confidence grows through doing. Between sessions you will try small, safe experiments, and each one becomes proof that you are more capable than your doubts suggest.
